NEW YORK, Aug 1 — After teasing the clip with a series of visuals, pop star Katy Perry has released the full video for “This is How We Do,” a pop-culture-laden romp set in a typically candy-colored Katy Perry universe.

The video is directed by Joel Kefali (Lorde’s “Tennis Court”) and brings in imagery in the form of Pee-Wee Herman back-up dancers, Mondrian dresses, visions of Mariah Carey and of Aretha Franklin, a pepperoni pizza bathing suit and the pièce de résistance, a twerking ice cream cone.

The dance-pop track “This is How We Do” is the fifth single from Perry’s 2013 album, “Prism.”

Earlier this week YouTube announced that Katy Perry tops the list of the most-played music videos for 2014 so far. Her video for “Dark Horse” is approaching 500 million views. — AFP/Relaxnews
