HOLLYWOOD, July 17 — Kristen Wiig has recently opened up about wanting to switch up her career after starring in comedies like ‘Bridesmaids and ‘The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty’ and instead work her way into more dramatic roles.
In her latest movie ‘Welcome To Me’, Kristen stars as a woman with a borderline personality disorder who wins the lottery, stops her medication and starts up a TV talk show.
However, having been introduced to the world stage on the comedy show ‘Saturday Night Live’, Kristen has always been tagged as a comedy actress, because according to her, “people have to have some sort of context for a person to register.”

She’s always been interested in doing more dramatic stuff as there’s “something really satisfying about being able to step away with a small crew, become a character and get to know her for a few months at a time.”
Wiig seems to be following the example set by Jonah Hill, who also started out on ‘Saturday Night Live’, and made a name for himself in comedy, but has since starred in hit dramas like ‘Money Ball’ and more recently, ‘The Wolf Of Wall Street’. — Cover Media
