LOS ANGELES, June 23 — Welcome to ‘Love Life Lowdown’, where we have a look at the lucky fellas who’ve been given ‘An Education’ by British beauty Carey Mulligan.
The Oscar nominated actress is famously tight-lipped about her private life, but such a lovely lady is sure to have turned the heads of some of her famous guy friends. The first celeb to fall under her spell was her ‘Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps’ co-star Shia LaBeouf, although perhaps he doesn’t count since he’s “not famous anymore.”
Mulligan relocated to New York to shoot the film, and stayed to be with Shia. But just a year later, she had packed her bags and returned to London, citing “irreconcilable differences.” She enjoyed quick rebound flings with fellow Brits Tom Sturridge and Eddie Redmayne, followed by serving as a rebound for Hollywood hunk Jake Gyllenhaal when he split from Reese Witherspoon in 2011.
But poor Jake accidentally sealed his own fate when he escorted the A-list cutie to a secret performance by the ultra-hip indie band Mumford and Sons. According to reports, it turns out that Carey and lead singer Marcus Mumford had been childhood friends at a Christian holiday camp in the UK. Though the young pair were pen pals for a while, they had lost touch until Gyllenhaal unwittingly rekindled their spark.
Just five months later, the very private twosome tied the knot in a secret ceremony on a farm in Somerset, England. Though they are rarely seen in public together, the couple remain very happy and supportive of each other’s careers. Sorry, fellas, this lady is off the market. — Cover Media
