LOS ANGELES, June 20 ― “Wolf Of Wall Street” star Leonardo DiCaprio was recently spotted partying into the early hours on a private yacht in Brazil, but no it seems that the party could actually have been a research trip.

The star announced that he’s going to invest a whopping US$7 million (RM22.4 million) in marine conservation within the next two years. Despite the fact Leo is yet to build a family, the thoughtful star explained that “this isn’t simply an exercise in wildlife conservation. If we don’t do something to save the ocean now, it won’t be just the sharks and the dolphins that suffer. It will be our children and our grandchildren.”

Helping with the clean up the seven seas isn’t a new passion for DiCaprio as before he became an actor, he dreamed of working as a marine biologist.

The pledge will obviously be well received, but by a big star like Leo being behind the cause, he’s likely to draw a lot of attention and create a lot of awareness to the need to step in and clean up. ― Cover Media
