LOS ANGELES, June 5 ― This Hollywood hunk is one of the busiest men in showbiz right now. As well as having a high flying career on the big screen, he's also a hands-on dad to daughter Everly with wife Jenna. That's right, we're talking about Channing Tatum.
In 1980, the now 34 year old actor, was born in Cullman, Alabama. Growing up, Tatum was very energetic and somewhat troublesome. during this time he earned the nickname Chanimal. To keep him out of trouble his parents decided to sign him up for several sports such as American football, soccer, baseball and martial arts. Those sports lessons certainly helped him later in his career. In his latest movie 'Foxcatcher' Tatum portrays a wrestler. At the Cannes Film Festival Channing admitted that he thinks wrestling is the toughest sport of all.
Tatum says, “'I've been doing some form of martial arts pretty much most of my life ever since I started around about six or seven some sort of form of sport or actual discipline and I don't mind saying at all I would challenge anyone that says that boxing is harder, or that muay thai is harder or jiu jitsu is harder, they're lying wrestling is by far one of the hardest sports I've ever played in my entire life.'”
When graduating military school in 1998 he was voted most athletic. At the age of 18, Channing received a full athletic football scholarship at Glenville State College in West Virginia, but dropped out after one semester and started working in construction. Soon after he left his job as a roofer and began working as a male dancer in a local nightclub. Later in his career Tatum told the press he wanted to make a film about his experiences as a stripper and that idea led to the successful movie “Magic Mike”.
When Channing moved to Miami he was soon discovered by a model talent scout. In 2000 he was cast as a dancer in the music video for 'She Bangs' by Ricky Martin. In that same year he did his first fashion show for Men's Health magazine. After the fashion show, he began booking editorials and his modeling career began. The actor has modeled for noted clients such as Armani, Abercrombie & Fitch, Vogue and Dolce & Gabbana and landed several television commercials during his modeling career. Tatum made the transition to acting because he didn't find modeling challenging enough for him.
And even though he's well known for his acting career these days, he still likes to use his modeling skills for the movie posters. Just like he did for “G.I. Joe: Rise Of Cobra”.
Channing's first serious role was on CSI: Miami in 2004. Two years later he got his big break with the romantic comedy 'She's The Man' and won the category Choice Breakout Male at the Teen Choice Awards.

As said before Tatum has always been very athletic. He still enjoys working out and his movie roles demand a lot of physical exercise, when he's not working Channing likes running to keep his figure in shape.
And all the exercise paid off in 2012, when he snatched People Magazine's title of Sexiest Man Alive. No wonder that a lot of women throw themselves at him. When Tatum and co-star Jonah Hill suited up for the movie “21 Jump Street” they experienced some seriously crazy fan-moments.
But is was actress Jenna Dewan who stole his heart on the set of dance movie “Step Up”. They began dating shortly after filming had finished and got engaged in 2008. The couple married the following year. While Hollywood marriages don’t always have a good track record, they’ve managed to make it work by bringing the best out in each other. In May 2013 the happy couple welcomed baby girl Everly, Channing loves fatherhood and has his own way of describing babies.
Even though it looks like Channing keeps his cool at all times, he's also admitted he can be a bit star stuck sometimes. Just like that one time he got to meet his idol Johnny Depp.
