LOS ANGELES, May 31 ― On the 1st of June, the most famous voice in Hollywood, Morgan Freeman, celebrates his birthday!

Born in Memphis, Tennessee, Freeman has become something of an elder statesman for the movie industry. He has appeared in films of all genres, from dramas like the fan favourite “Shawshank Redemption” to action films like Christopher Nolan's “Dark Knight” trilogy. From thrillers like “Se7en” with Brad Pitt to comedies like “Bruce Almighty”, in which he literally played God.

“It is my fervent hope and I'm not sure that it happened, but it is my fervent hope that every movie I do is different from the one I did before,” says Freeman.

2014 marked Freeman's 50th year in the business, and the acclaimed actor shows no signs of slowing down. Here's to another 50.
