LOS ANGELES, April 29 — On the 30th of April, both actress Kirsten Dunst and director Lars von Trier celebrate their birthdays.
Kirsten began her modelling career at just three years old, breaking into movies at six. Her most successful role came as love interest Mary Jane Watson in Sam Raimi’s ‘Spider-Man’ trilogy. Since then, she has been content to star in smaller films, such as 2011’s ‘Melancholia’ which she made with the director who shares her birthdate, the always controversial Lars von Trier.
Danish auteur von Trier has also been involved with cinema from a young age, making movies since he received a Super 8 camera as a gift on his 11th birthday. The dogmatic director has never shied away from graphic sex and violence in his pictures, most especially in what is known as his “Depression Trilogy”, which consists of the films ‘Antichrist’, ‘Melancholia’ and 2014’s ‘Nymphomaniac’. — Cover Media
