NEW YORK, Feb 25 — Australian actor Luke Bracey will replace Keanu Reeves, starring as the undercover Fed, surfer dude, and bank robber Johnny Utah in the 2015 remake of ‘90s action movie “Point Break.”
Bracey might be a new face to most, but he already appeared as masked baddie Cobra Commander in “G.I. Joe: Retaliation,” as well as in the 2011 Selena Gomez romcom “Monte Carlo,” as Variety points out.
Prior to that, he got his break on Australian TV soap “Home and Away” in a six-month stint that saw him play bad boy Trey Palmer.
Gerard Butler is already in place to play Bodhi, leader of the film’s tight crew of surfers and heistmen, a role first filled by Patrick Swayze.
Ericson Core, cinematographer on “The Fast and The Furious” and “Daredevil,” takes the reigns as director for the project. — AFP-Relaxnews
