LONDON, Jan 24 — Channel 4 has released a one-minute trailer introducing the premise and characters of the new dramedy, the pilot episode of which will air in the UK on February 9.
Twelve years after the made-for-TV movie “Strumpet,” Danny Boyle is coming back to the small screen with his first series. With this action-packed dramedy, the “Slumdog Millionaire” director will present a modern perspective on politics and day-to-day operations in London’s police force.
Brit Marling (“The Company You Keep”) will play Liz Garvey, an American media executive brought in to overhaul the London police force’s approach to PR and communication. Her new methods are not to everyone’s liking, leading to conflicts with a number of her new colleagues, including the police Chief Constable Richard Miller, played by James Nesbitt (“The Hobbit”).
Channel 4 will unveil the pilot episode, directed Danny Boyle, on February 9, before airing the six following episodes this fall. — AFP/Relaxnews
