LOS ANGELES, Dec 12 — Juan Antonio Bayona will direct Brad Pitt in the follow-up to the extremely lucrative zombie movie, which grossed US$540 million (RM1.7 billion) at the global box office.
A few years after his 2012 film “The Impossible,” Juan Antonio Bayona will film Gerry Lane’s continued struggle in a world devastated by a zombie epidemic.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Spanish director has agreed to direct the “World War Z” sequel and to supervise the screenwriting process.
Brad Pitt will once again star as the former UN employee who plays a key role in a global fight against a zombie pandemic.
The actor will also co-produce the sequel, which, like the first “World War Z” film, will be loosely based on the book by Max Brooks.
Producers have not yet revealed a production timeline for “World War Z 2”. — AFP-Relaxnews
