LOS ANGELES, Nov 16 — The American actor will join Ben Foster and Chris O’Dowd on the set of this Stephen Frears feature, according to Thewrap.com.
Lee Pace, introduced to US audiences through his role on “Pushing Daisies,” has joined the cast of this still untitled feature, produced by Working Title and StudioCanal. The actor’s role in the Lance Armstrong biopic has not been revealed.
Stephen Frears is already filming the feature, which will follow the career of the American cycling champion. Lance Armstrong, who won seven Tours de France from 1999 to 2005 and survived testicular cancer, became an international sports hero. The cyclist fell from grace when accusations of doping were substantiated and finally confirmed by the athlete himself in 2013.
Ben Foster will play Armstrong, and Chris O’Dowd will take on the role of the Irish journalist David Walsh. French actor Guillaume Canet will play Michele Ferrari, the controversial Italian doctor who was Armstrong’s physical coach during the period when he was alleged to be doping. — Afp-Relaxnews
