NILAI, Nov 15 ― The National Film Development Corporation (Finas) is monitoring the quality of films and taking measures to improve their quality.
The measures include tightening the regulations and holding dialogue so that the films bring good return to the producers via increased collection.
“However, there are films that surprise such as ‘Highland Towers’ which collected over RM3 million. A film’s success is determined by moviegoers who have different tastes,” he told reporters after opening the 10th Malaysian Students’ Film and Video Festival, here today.
The five films nominated for Best Filem/Short Video are “Dompet” (USIM); “Mimpi Mah Meri” (ASWARA), “Newcastle” (Kuala Lumpur Metropolitan University College); “Silent Boy” (Universiti Malaysia Sabah) and “Unlock” (Universiti Teknologi Malaysia). ― Bernama
