LOS ANGELES, Nov 7 — Revealed exclusively through Asian movie news website Twitchfilm, the teaser trailer shows the first images from the follow-up to the phenomenally successful 2012 action film “The Raid.”
In 1m20s, the video indicates that “Berandal” will be a direct sequel to “The Raid.” Iko Uwais, among the foremost experts in the Indonesian martial art of Pencak-Silat, reprises his role as Rama, the idealist policeman who ventures into the underbelly of Jakarta's crime scene to protect his loved ones.
The teaser opens with shots of Rama in a jail cell — without indicating how he got there — before cutting to flashes of choreographed combat scenes, shoot-outs and intense face-offs. Like the first instalment, “The Raid 2: Berandal” is helmed by Welsh director Gareth Evans.
