KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 28 — The film “Sembunyi” was crowned Best Film at 2013 Professional Film Workers’ Association Of Malaysia (Profima) Awards at Putra World Trade Centre here last night.
Its director, Khabir Bhatia, also won the Best Film Director award and took home a trophy and certificate presented by Profima president Khir Mohd Noor.
Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek officiated the ceremony. Also present was Malaysian National Film Development Corporation (FINAS) director-general Raja Rozaimei Raja Dalnish Shah.
The Best Television Drama Series was by Zeel Production Sdn Bhd through the drama “Ameera” while the Best Telemovie was won by Suhan Movie & Trading Sdn Bhd through “Perempuan itu ibuku”.
The Best Documentary category was won by Measat Broadcast Network Systems & Discovery Network Asia Pacific with the documentary “Reef Rescuers”.
Three people won the 2013 Profima Award — actor Datuk Mohamed Noor Shamsuddin (Rosyam Nor), film director Bade Azmi and Assoc Prof Abdul Razak Mohaideen for their contribution to the Malaysian film industry. — Bernama
