KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 7 — Veteran film and drama  actress Maimon Mutalib, 55, died at her house in Section 17, Shah Alam, Selangor today due to breast cancer.

Seniman Malaysia president Rozaidi Abd Jamil confirmed the matter when contacted by Bernama here today.

“She died at her house at 2.20pm after suffering from the illness for a year,” he said.

Maimun, who was reported to have had stage four cancer last year, leaves behind five children, aged 16 to 32.

Her remains will be buried in her hometown Tangkak, Johor.

Among the dramas and films she acted in were ‘Aku Akan Muncul’, ‘Budak Pailang’, ‘Chantek’, ‘CUCI’, ‘Al-Hijab’, ‘Qabil Khushry Qabil Igam’ and ‘Appalam.’ — Bernama
