TOKYO, Oct 10 — The studio behind “Moshi Monsters” is still putting the finishing touches to World of Warriors, but it’s not too soon for them to put pen to paper on a line of children’s books based on the game.

“Moshi Monsters” was launched in 2008 and now boasts over 80 million registered users with a reach that extends across 150 territories.

Plushies, books, songs and soaps soon followed as British studio Mind Candy expanded the scope of its first and enduring major hit.

Set to launch before the end of 2014 (and already soft-launched on Android in Australia, Canada and the Philippines), mobile game World of Warriors will be supplemented in June 2015 by a sticker book and official guidebook published by Penguin.

In addition, it’s Bob the Builder designer, Frankenstein’s Cat creator, and Wereworld series author Curtis Jobling who is in charge of bringing World of Warriors to life within a series of middle grade adventure novels; Jobling is free to use characters both from the game and from his own imagination.

“It’ll feature many of the thrilling, battling and dramatic elements that have made [the ‘Wereworld’] series so popular,” he wrote in a Badablingthing blogpost.

“There’ll be fantasy in bucket loads, and if the helm fits, horror at times too. Expect warriors from throughout human history, spanning time, continents and cultures, to put in an appearance.” — AFP-Relaxnews
