SHAH ALAM, Oct 7 — The three-day Selangor Entrepreneur Expo 2023 (Selbiz 2023), organised by the Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) starting yesterday, is expected to achieve total sales transactions of about RM1 million.

Selangor youth, sports and entrepreneurship committee chairman Mohd Najwan Halimi said the second edition of the expo, which features about 200 sales booths from various industries, including manufacturing, retail and services, is projected to attract about 15,000 visitors.

Mohd Najwan said the expo also serves as a platform for entrepreneurs to promote their brands and gain the opportunity to expand their market.

"We plan to turn Selbiz into an annual programme of the state government with PKNS as the implementing agency,” he told reporters after officiating Selbiz 2023 at the Setia City Convention Centre here today.

Meanwhile, PKNS chief executive officer Datuk Mahmud Abbas said besides promoting and marketing the products directly to visitors, Selbiz 2023 also aims to give participants a launching pad to explore opportunities and network with fellow entrepreneurs.

A business matching programme is also held via Selbiz 2023 for participating entrepreneurs involving supermarkets and government agencies, including the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (Matrade), SME Corporation Malaysia and Agrobank.

The National Registration Department, Road Transport Department and Health Ministry also set up mobile service counters to service visitors during the expo.

PKNS also held a Rumah SelangorKu exhibition for first-time house buyers at the Selangor Housing and Property Board’s information counter.

Visitors can also participate in the 5km and 10km Selbiz Run 2023 tomorrow (October 8). — Bernama
