KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 10 — The Malaysia China International Trade Link Association (Macita) is expecting 72 Malaysian exhibitors to participate in this year’s China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair).

Macita chief strategic advisor Datuk Naim Mohamad said Malaysian companies that are exporting and are trying to promote their products internationally, especially small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), are welcome to participate in the most comprehensive international trade event in China.

"The participation rate is about RM19,800 per exhibitor, and that is a good offer because the previous rate for Canton Fair used to be about RM33,000,” he said during a press conference here today.

The fair is scheduled to be held in three phases, April 15-19, April 23-27, and May 1-5.

Meanwhile, Macita president Datuk Chong Chong Tik said that over 100 countries are participating in this year’s Canton Fair.

He said the Canton Fair is a good platform for Malaysian businesses, particularly SMEs, as the fair provides business matchmaking to promote businesses and products internationally.

Among the categories of exhibition include electronics and household electrical equipment, chemical products, textiles and office supplies, among others. — Bernama
