KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 21 — Lazada Malaysia has continued to make its mark by winning multiple awards at two human resource awards ceremonies recently, namely the HR Asia Awards 2022 and Graduan Brand Awards 2022.

Lazada, in a statement today, said Lazada Malaysia was recognised as the Best Company to Work for in Asia 2022 — Malaysia edition at the HR Asia Awards 2022 and as Malaysia’s Most Preferred Employer 2022 — retail/ecommerce industry category and declared the first runner-up for Malaysia’s Most Preferred Employer 2022 — overall category at the Graduan Brand Awards 2022.

It said the awards recognised Lazada Malaysia’s people-focused organisational development efforts that demonstrated high levels of employee engagement and excellent workplace culture.

"It is a testament to the company’s continuous commitment and investment to nurture and upskill local talents, and in developing a diverse talent pool, for the overall growth of the digital ecosystem,” the statement added.

Lazada Malaysia chief people officer Azian Ahmad said Lazada was grateful and honoured to be recognised as the Employer of Choice and Best Place to Work by leading human resource organisations and publications such as Graduan and HR Asia.

"Our people, the Lazadians, are the backbone of our eCommerce presence here in Malaysia; they are the driving force that enables our organisational growth, business success and exceptional milestones that we have achieved over the past 10 years.

"This is why we will continue to invest in our human capital and people development, as we strongly believe that they bring our purpose, impact and inspiration to life. The awards are dedicated to all Lazadians that work endlessly, in order to deliver an engaging online shopping journey and differentiated customer experience,” she added.

She said part of Lazada Malaysia’s people development initiatives was to identify and empower future-fit talents and leaders that can add value to their personal career growth and the community.

According to Azian, Lazada’s ‘Forward Leaders Programme’ was designed to attract fresh talents from diverse backgrounds and to create wider inclusion across the organisation.

The programme also fostered the entrepreneurial spirit with strong digital skills and advocated gradual upskilling, hence empowering employees to thrive and reach their maximum potential, she added. — Bernama
