KUALA LUMPUR, May 24 ― Petron Malaysia Refining & Marketing Bhd’s net profit eased to RM72.12 million in the first quarter ended March 31, 2018 compared with RM108.53 million recorded in the same period last year.
Revenue rose to RM2.72 billion from RM2.55 billion previously, mainly due to growth in sales volume and higher oil prices, it said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia today.
"Total sales volume reached 8.7 million barrels, a four per cent increase from 8.3 million barrels last year, driven mostly by the growth in domestic volume,” it said.
On prospects, the company said it would continue to enhance promotions of innovative products, strengthen partnerships and explore new opportunities. ― Bernama
