KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 27 — Sime Darby Property Bhd is on the lookout to dispose of its land bank parcels in Kedah and Sabah this year with an estimate size of 1,900 acres, and will focus instead on Klang Valley projects.
Group Managing Director Datuk Seri Amrin Awaluddin said the plan is to ensure the timely execution of asset monetisation initiatives for non-strategic key developments.
"This year we are disposing our land bank in both states and will start focusing on key areas which are mainly located in Klang Valley area,” he said during the media briefing on the group’s second quarter result for 2017 here, today.
He shared this year the group will focus on launches in City of Elmina, Bandar Bukit Raja and Serenia City in Selangor, and the Bandar Universiti Pagoh township in Johor.
For highrise projects, the focus will be in Subang Jaya and KL East.
Awaludin said the group will also be focusing to unlock the value of its land is through partnerships and joint ventures.
"We expect to welcome some international partners who will bring values to our developments, especially for our industrial product,” said Amrin, who declined to reveal the name of new international partners.
He noted the new international partners will be working to develop Sime Darby Property’s industrial products in Bandar Bukit Raja, Serenia City and Bandar Universiti Pagoh.
