TM gives unifi services a makeover

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 24 — Telecommunications giant Telekom Malaysia introduced a revamp of its unifi brand today that is now the stable for all its Internet-related services.

Under the exercise, the firm’s offerings in the areas of home internet, WiFi, mobile cellular and over-the-top TV services will all carry the unifi name.

The stable of products under the unifi umbrella will now be aimed at "Accelerating Convergence and Empowering Digital” services.

"unifi kicks off 2018 with a refreshed look and feel, and the completion of the single brand approach to mobile and TV in addition to home and Wifi,” said Imri Mokhtar, TM’s executive vice-president for unifi.

Also present during the launch were TM Group CEO Datuk Seri Mohd Shazalli Ramly, his deputy Datuk Bazlan Osman, and other members of the firm’s senior management.

unifi mobile, previously known as webe, will aim to disrupt the mobile cellular market by being the first to offer users a "hybrid” approach to the usual prepaid or postpaid dilemma.

It allows users to tailor the services and charges to their own needs, all without long-term contracts or commitments, while continuing the pioneering offer of unlimited calls and Internet access.

To mark the launch of the revamped unifi mobile, TM will give away one millions SIM cards, each with a complimentary 20GB of mobile Internet access.

The SIM cards may be ordered directly using the the mobile@unifi app available on both the Apple’s App Store and Google Play.

At the same event, TM announced that unifi TV (formerly known as Hypp TV) will introduce an innovative live interactive game show called Teka Tekan, which allows viewers to participate from the comfort of their homes and stand to win RM 20,000 in daily cash prizes.
