KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 6 — Bursa Malaysia was mixed at mid-afternoon today with mild buying interests seen in the index-linked counters.
The broader market, however, was weaker.
At 3.06pm, the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) was 2.51 points better at 1,743.44 from Friday’s close of 1,740.93. It opened 2.32 points higher at 1,743.25 this morning.
On the broader market, the tone was negative with losers leading gainers by 422 to 382 gainers with 374 counters unchanged, 636 untraded and 29 others were suspended.
Turnover stood at 1.86 billion shares worth RM1.14 billion.
Of the heavyweights, Maybank added one sen to RM9.25, Sime Darby rose three sen to RM9.11, Petronas Chemicals increased six sen to RM7.35, Public Bank was flat at RM20.46, TNB declined two sen to RM14.88 while CIMB and Axiata both fell one sen to RM6.20 and RM5.42, respectively.
Among actives, Diversified Gateway rose 1.5 sen to nine sen, PUC was up half-a-sen to 20 sen, EA Holdings was flat at 4.5 sen, UMW Oil & Gas fell 1.5 sen to 32.5 sen and Trive Property eased half-a-sen to 11 sen.
The FBM Emas Index expanded 26.38 points to 12,589.54, FBMT 100 Index advanced 28.72 points to 12,226.2 and the FBM 70 swelled 77.66 points to 15,556.12.
The FBM Emas Shariah Index was up 28.82 points to 13,056.1 and the FBM Ace was slight higher by 2.67 points to 6,859.94.
Sector-wise, the Finance Index was 7.32 points firmer to 16,290.76, the Industrial Index advanced 21.22 points to 3,198.83 but the Plantation Index was 2.73 points lower at 7,988.22. — Bernama
