KUALA LUMPUR, June 28 ― Bursa Malaysia continued its downtrend at mid-afternoon with selling mostly spotted in bluechips led by Genting.
At 3.08pm, the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) stood at 1,772.67, down 6.78 points from Friday’s 1,779.45.
Genting was 17 sen weaker at RM5.66 with 3.54 million shares changing hands
On the scoreboard, losers led gainers 456 to 319 with 320 counters unchanged, 717 untraded and 59 others were suspended.
Turnover stood at 868.61 million shares worth RM946.57 million.
Among heavyweights, Maybank rose three sen to RM9.63 and Sime Darby added one sen to RM9.62.
However, Tenaga eased two sen to RM14.14, Public Bank lost eight sen to RM20.30, CIMB slipped one sen to RM6.67 and Petronas Chemicals fell six sen to RM7.09.
Of actives, Pasukhas perked 1.5 sen to 18 sen, Bumi Armada rose 3.5 sen to 75.5 sen but Compugates was flat at 3.5 sen.
Tiger Synergy and Dagang Nexchange inched down half-a-sen each to six sen and 59 sen, respectively.
The Finance Index eased 17.9 points to 16,825.93, Plantation Index fell 38.92 points to 7,891.32 and the Industrial Index slipped 0.28 of-a-point to 3,272.27.
The FBM Emas Index lost 24.16 points to 12,624.27, FBMT100 Index weakened 25.73 points to 12,263.67, the FBM Ace trimmed 18.34 points to 6,261.11 and the FBM Emas Shariah Index fell 19.52 points to 12,811.5.
However, the FBM 70 chalked up 48.34 points to 14,983.12. ― Bernama
