KUALA LUMPUR, June 7 — Malaysia’s export surge has boosted its gross domestic product (GDP) growth and spurred global confidence in its economy, Datuk Seri Najib Razak said.

The Prime Minister said Malaysia was the only country in East Asia whose GDP growth forecast for 2017 was revised higher at 4.9 per cent by the World Bank.

"The economic growth forecast for 2018 and 2019 were also revised higher at 4.9 per cent and 5.0 per cent, respectively, an increase of 0.4 per cent and 0.5 per cent, respectively,” he said in his latest Twitter post. — Bernama
