KUALA LUMPUR, April 6 — Bursa Malaysia turned lower at mid-morning today on lack of catalyst and in line with the weaker Wall Street performance overnight.
At 11.05 am, the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) stood at 1,741.32, down 3.35 points or 0.19 per cent, from Wednesday’s close of 1,744.67.
The key index opened 0.14 of-a-point higher at 1,744.81.
Market breadth was negative as losers outpaced gainers 412 to 379, with 356 counters unchanged and 562 untraded, while 19 others were suspended.
Turnover stood at 1.82 billion shares worth RM919.87 million.
Other heavyweights, Maxis added two sen to RM6.42, YTL Corp gained one sen to RM1.52, Hong Leong Financial Group rose eight sen to RM16.34, IHH Healthcare was flat at RM6 and Maybank eased one sen to RM8.94.
As for actives, IFCA MSC increased 2.5 sen to 46.5 sen, Bio Osmo perked one sen to 9.5 sen, Bioalpha was two sen higher at 27.5 sen and Dagang Nexchange eased two sen to 44.5 sen.
The FBM Emas Index shed 19.39 points to 12,427.58 and the FBMT100 Index depreciated 22.41 points to 12,051.77.
The FBM Ace advanced 65.17 points to 6,065.99, the FBM 70 went down 24.47 points to 14,742.85 and the FBM Emas Shariah Index slid 22.39 points to 12,899.82.
On a sectoral basis, the Plantation Index gained 5.31 points to 8,201.64, the Industrial Index fell 7.38 points to 3,257.47 and the Finance Index slipped 28.81 points to 15,705.43. — Bernama
