KUALA LUMPUR, March 28 — Shares on Bursa Malaysia remained higher at mid-morning today on buying support in most heavyweights and lower-liners.
At 11.02am, the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) stood at 1,750.50, up 5.55 points from yesterday’s close of 1,744.95.
Earlier, the index opened 5.65 points higher at 1,744.95.
On the broader market, gainers outpaced decliners 409 to 259, while 373 counters unchanged, 680 untraded and 25 others suspended.
Turnover stood at 1.37 billion shares worth RM634.27 million.
Petronas Chemicals which rose 10 sen to RM7.68 was the top contributor to the composite index.
Of the heavyweights, Maybank rose one sen to RM8.98 and TNB added four sen to RM13.74, as Public Bank perked two sen to RM19.94.But, Sime Darby eased six sen to RM9.39.
As for actives, Scomi Group was two sen higher at 20 sen, Naim Indah fell half-a-sen to 11.5 sen, while Olympia Industries increased 1.5 sen to 15.5 sen.
The FBM Emas Index improved 39.41 points to 12,390.65, the FBMT100 Index increased 38.02 points to 12,046.81 and the FBM Emas Shariah Index was 31.71 points stronger at 12,810.66.
The FBM 70 gained 45.19 points to 14,479.57 and the FBM Ace gained 54.92 points to 5,742.63.
On a sectoral basis, the Industrial Index inched up 5.16 points to 3,287.04, the Finance Index advanced 44.03 points to 15,697.44 and the Plantation Index added 11.76 points to — Bernama
