KUALA LUMPUR, March 16 — Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) has signed a large-scale solar (LSS) power purchase agreement (PPA) with Mudajaya Group Bhd’s unit, Sinar Kamiri Sdn Bhd.
In a filing to Bursa Malaysia today, TNB said, Sinar Kamiri would design, construct, own, operate and maintain a solar photovoltaic energy generating facility of 49 megawatts to be located in Sungai Siput, Perak.
Sinar Kamiri is a wholly-owned unit of Mudajaya RE Sdn Bhd, an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary of Mudajaya Group through its wholly-owned unit, Mudajaya Energy Sdn. Bhd
The PPA, which has an expected commercial operation date of August 31, 2018, governs the obligations of the parties to sell and purchase the energy generated by the facility for a period of 21 years from the commercial operation date in accordance with the agreed terms and conditions.
This referred to the LSS competitive bidding exercise organised by Suruhanjaya Tenaga in 2016 to develop, among others, the transmission-connected LSS projects.
Suruhanjaya Tenaga has awarded the transmission-connected LSS projects to seven successful bidders. — Bernama
