KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 10 ― Bursa Malaysia was mixed at mid-afternoon today, as mild profit-taking in selected heavyweights capped gains, dealers said.
At 3pm, the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) stood at 1,671.06, down 0.65 point from yesterday's close of 1,671.71.
The index opened 2.84 points lower at 1,668.87.
Gainers led losers by 363 to 345 while 367 counters were unchanged, 618 untraded and 24 others were suspended.
Turnover amounted to 1.46 billion shares worth RM805.09 million.
Among heavyweights, TNB declined 12 sen to RM14.50, Maybank slipped three sen to RM7.97 while Public Bank jumped 22 sen to RM19.58 and IHH Healthcare advanced eight sen to RM6.63.
Of the actives, HSS Engineers added 6.5 sen to 56.5 sen, APFT rose one sen to 6.5 sen while Dagang Nexchange eased half-a-sen to 21 sen and Hubline was flat at one sen.
The FBM Emas Index perked 10.52 points to 11,754.64, FBMT100 Index improved 9.21 points to 11,452.03 and the FBM Ace firmed 28.74 points to 5,461.27.
The FBM Emas Shariah Index was 23.54 points higher at 12,398.86 and the FBM 70 rose 60.42 points to 13,574.30.
Sector-wise, the Finance Index declined 10.75 points to 14,324.72 and the Plantation Index trimmed 15.69 points to 7,635.53. The Industrial Index recovered 3.91 points to 3,158.04. ― Bernama
