KUALA LUMPUR, June 15 ― Bursa Malaysia turned mixed at mid-morning today in line with regional markets and as Wall Street staged an overnight decline.
At 11.05am, the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) was 1.02 points higher or 0.06 per cent at 1,627.13, from Tuesday's close of 1,626.11. It opened 5.19 points easier at 1,620.92.
Market breadth remained negative as losers led gainers 301 to 190, while 311 counters were unchanged, 904 untraded and 15 others suspended.
Turnover stood at 550.53 million shares worth RM361.80 million.
Among heavyweights, Maybank advanced nine sen to RM8.09, IHH Healthcare bagged three sen to RM6.42, Axiata gained five sen to RM5.60, while TNB and Public Bank declined two sen to RM14 and RM19.16 respectively.
Of actives, Sanichi inched up half-a-sen to 14.5 sen, LKL International gained one sen to 32 sen, Bumi Armada was flat at 71 sen and ConnectCounty Holdings edged down half-a-sen to 2.5 sen.
The FBM Emas Index eased 0.61 of-a-point to 11,397.53, the FBMT 100 Index eased 0.73 of-a-point to 11,095.08 and the FBM 70 fell 28.08 points to 12,946.93.
The FBM Emas Shariah Index trimmed 0.67 of-a-point to 11,965.27, but the FBM Ace increased 32.88 points to 5,383.83.
Sector-wise, the Finance Index appreciated 26.38 points to 14,068.78, the Plantation Index slipped 0.80 of-a-point to 7,545.85 and the Industrial Index fell 12.50 points to 3,053.30. ― Bernama
