KUALA LUMPUR, June 13 — Bursa Malaysia remained weak at mid-morning on lack of impetus to boost the market and in line with its regional peers, said a dealer.
At 11.05am, the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) was 11.16 points lower at 1,630.06 from last Friday’s close of 1,641.22.
It opened 6.63 points lower at 1,634.59.
Market breadth was negative with 150 gainers and 457 losers while 279 counters were unchanged, 817 untraded and 15 others were suspended.
Turnover stood at 580.06 million shares worth RM343.60 million.
Of actives, Vsolar Group edged up half-a-sen to 13 sen, Borneo Oil was flat at 15 sen, Bumi Armada declined two sen to 73.5 sen and AirAsia X eased one sen to 37 sen.
Among heavyweights, Axiata and Maxis both weakened 12 sen to RM5.48 and RM5.63, respectively, while Petronas Chemicals reduced 10 sen to RM6.44, Petronas Gas lost 22 sen to RM21.34 and Petronas Dagangan depreciated 40 sen to RM23.22.
The FBM Emas Index eased 81.0 points to 11,419.57, the FBMT 100 Index shed 77.82 points to 11,114.23 and the FBM 70 fell 96.92 points to 12,966.39.
The FBM Emas Shariah Index gave up 88.38 points to 11,968.33 and the FBM Ace decreased 0.97 of-a-point to 5,511.53.
Sector-wise, the Finance Index slid 70.33 points to 14,120.77, the Plantation Index slipped 14.71 points at 7,562.58 and the Industrial Index fell 18.50 points to 3,063.72. — Bernama
