KUALA LUMPUR, June 9 — Bursa Malaysia continued to trade marginally higher mid-afternoon bolstered by gains in trade and services, as well as, industrial products, dealer said.
At 3.01 pm, the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) was 0.14 of-a point better at 1,657.99 after opening 0.32 of-a-point lower at 1,657.53.
Market breadth however was mixed with losers outpacing gainers 337 to 317 while 356 counters were unchanged, 684 untraded and 15 others were suspended.
Turnover stood at 1.15 billion shares worth RM843.19 million.
Among heavyweights, Maybank and Petronas Chemicals fell three sen each to RM8.24 and RM6.67, respectively, TNB eased two sen to RM13.98, Public Bank declined four sen to RM19.10.
As for active stocks, Vsolar gained one sen to 11 sen, Bumi Armada and Trive Property increased 2.5 sen each to 76.5 sen and seven sen, respectively, Vivocom gained half-a-sen to 28.5 sen.
The Finance Index fell 41.28 points to 14,288.76, the Plantation Index decreased 11.18 points to 7,593.64 and the Industrial Index was 0.15 of-a-point lower at 3,116.08.
The FBM Emas Index shed 3.20 points to 11,595.29 and the FBMT100 Index declined 5.59 points to 11,286.76 while the FBM Emas Shariah Index increased 12.11 points to 12,169.83.
The FBM 70 reduced 29.88 points to 13,103.90 but the FBM Ace added 35.78 points to 5,483.69. — Bernama
