Ringgit opens higher against US dollar

KUALA LUMPUR, April 29 — The ringgit opened higher against the US dollar today as more investors gained confidence in emerging currencies including the ringgit, dealers said.
At 9.02am, the local note stood at 3.8800/8870 against the US dollar from 3.8940/9000 yesterday.
Against other major currencies, the ringgit was traded mostly higher.
It went up against the Singapore dollar to 2.8897/8953 from yesterday’s 2.8986/9039 but depreciated against the yen to 3.6761/6875 from 3.6012/6078 previously.
It strengthened against the euro to 4.4088/4180 from 4.4220/4304 and advanced against the British pound to 5.6587/6714 from 5.6868/6975 yesterday. — Bernama
