KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 20 — Malaysia’s inflation rate in October was steady against September, at 2.5 per cent from a year earlier, due to a rise in prices of consumer goods, government data showed today.

The consumer price index (CPI) in October was slightly lower than 2.6 per cent forecast in a Reuters poll.

Inflation picked up in the three months after the government introduced a 6 per cent Goods and Services Tax in April but has started to moderate due to lower consumer fuel prices.  — Reuters
