KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 13 — Bursa Malaysia was lower at today’s opening on selling in blue chips and selected heavyweights, dealers said.
At 9.30 am, the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) stood at 1,655.32, down 7.88 points from Thursday’s 1,663.20.
Losers led gainers 410 to 106, while 229 counters were unchanged, 1,088 counters untraded and 35 others suspended.
Turnover stood at 429.59 million shares worth RM215.79 million.
On the scoreboards, the FBM Emas Index fell 51.68 points to 11,550.20, the FBMT100 Index went down 49.31 points to 11,222.83 and the FBM Emas Shariah Index slipped 32.311 points to 12,462.06.
The FBM Ace was down 54.24 points to 6,385.30 and the FBM 70 eased 41.45 points to 12,865.87.
Sector-wise, the Finance Index contracted 118.28 points to 14,002.82, the Plantation Index inched down 12.37 points to 7,509.24, while the Industrial Index was 14.32 points better at 3,307.75.
Among heavyweights, Maybank fell seven sen to RM8.29, Public Bank slid 16 sen to RM17.80 and IHH gave up nine sen to RM6.45, while TNB rose two sen to RM13.12.
Among the actives, Hubline was flat at two sen, Instacom fell half-a-sen to 22 sen, and AirAsia was one sen better at RM1.41. — Bernama
