KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 26 — A productivity centre will be set up to strengthen productivity agenda under the 11 Malaysia Plan, said Deputy International Trade and Industry Minister, Datuk Lee Chee Leong.

He said the centre would be a collaboration between the Malaysia Productivity Corp (MPC) and various institutions, organisations and industry bodies.

"It will focus on survey initiatives, interventionist programmes and the sharing of best practices to boost productivity," he said.

Lee said this at the closing ceremony and award presentation of Team Excellence Convention 2015 for Sabah and Sarawak here today.

He said strategic collaborations could boost productivity within the organisation.

"I urge institutions, organisations and associations in Sabah and Sarawak to cooperate with the MPC and look for opportunities to increase productivity of the organisations and states," he said.

Lee said the MPC could help achieve the national productivity growth target of 3.7 per cent each year.

"The Malaysian Productivity Action Plan was created from gathering inputs from various stakeholders to form a collective action that will help the MPC to spur national productivity," he said. — Bernama
