Bursa remains lower at mid-morning

KUALA LUMPUR, July 27 — Bursa Malaysia remained lower at mid-morning in the absence of positive local leads, dealers said.

At 11.05am, the key FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) eased 5.54 points to 1,715.22.

Decliners outpaced gainers by 383 to 269, while 256 counters were unchanged, 916 untraded and 19 others suspended.

Turnover stood at 979.04 million shares worth RM509.32 million.

On the scoreboard, the FBM Emas Index declined 37.03 points to 11,855.13, the FBMT100 Index eased 35.83 points to 11,523.39, and the FBM Emas Shariah Index fell 21.42 points to 12,324.25.

The FBM 70 lost 34.86 points to 12,824.93 and the FBM Ace was 11.77 points lower to 6,544.93.

On a sectoral basis, the Plantation Index trimmed 34.02 points to 7,390.19, the Finance Index declined 90.90 points to 15,457.46 and the Industrial Index slid 3.95 points to 3,178.57.

Among actives, debutant Ikhmas Jaya rose 19.5 sen to 76.5 sen, iDimension Consolidated rose two sen to 13 sen, The Media Shoppe inched up by half-a-sen to 6.5 sen and 1 Utopia was flat at 4.5 sen.

Of the heavyweights, Maybank fell one sen to RM9.22, TNB was down two sen to RM12.26, Public Bank was flat at RM19 while Axiata rose one sen to RM6.37. — Bernama
