KUALA LUMPUR, July 22 — Bursa Malaysia was easier at mid-morning today dampened by sustained weakness in the broader market, dealers said.
At 11.03am, the key FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) eased 6.94 points to 1,729.25.
On a broader market, decliners outpaced gainers by 318 to 239, while 271 counters were unchanged, 982 untraded and 12 others suspended.
Turnover stood at 678.78 million shares worth RM552.01 million.
On the scoreboard, the FBM Emas Index declined 38.21 points to 11,924.5, FBMT100 Index eased 38.14 points to 11,603.74 and the FBM Shariah Index fell 29.26 points to 12,381.58.
The FBM 70 lost 11.22 points to 12,862.9 and the FBM Ace erased 13.07 points to 6,403.37.
On a sectoral basis, the Plantation Index fell 50.53 points to 7,489.98, Finance Index declined 39.41 points to 15,541.78 and the Industrial Index went down 11.97 points to 3,205.63.
Among actives, Genting lost four sen to RM4.29 while KNM gained 2.5 sen to 61 sen.
APFT, Privasia and iDimension were flat at 22 sen, 30 sen and 11 sen respectively.
Of the heavyweights, Maybank lost two sen to RM9.19, Public Bank and Sime Darby declined six sen each to RM19 and RM8.62 respectively and TNB erased four sen to RM12.28.
Axiata was flat at RM6.38. — Bernama
