KUALA LUMPUR, July 13 — Bursa Malaysia ended the morning session lower as investors remained on the sidelines ahead of the Hari Raya Aidilfitri festive which begins on Friday.
At 12.30pm, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) was 2.02 points or 0.11 per cent lower at 1,713.56, after moving between 1,707 and 1,715.91 throughout the morning session.
Losers outpaced gainers 345 to 227, with 289 counters unchanged, 933 untraded and 11 others were suspended.
Turnover stood at 841.36 billion shares valued at RM562.16 million.
Among heavyweights, Maybank and Sime Darby were flat at RM9.20 and RM8.54, respectively.
Public Bank eased four sen to RM18.78, TNB declined six sen to RM12.48 and Axiata shed one sen to RM6.30.
Of actives, China Automobile added 1.5 sen to 32 sen, Vsolar Group and AirAsia were flat at 12.5 sen and RM1.34, respectively, while Frontken Corp eased one sen lower to 25 sen.
On the scoreboard, the FBM Emas Index trimmed 10.42 points to 11,791.66, the
FBMT100 Index was 9.60 points lower at 11,487.05 while the FBM Emas Shariah depreciated 4.41 points to 12,273.66.
The FBM 70 gained 3.93 points to 12,691.27 but the FBM Ace shed 67.16 points to 6,045.32.
Sector-wise, the Finance Index contracted 26.63 points to 15,365.44, the Plantation Index slid 8.47 points to 7,460.31 and the Industrial Index edged down 0.79 of-a-point to 3,161.16. — Bernama
