KUALA LUMPUR, June 12 — Share prices on Bursa Malaysia were mixed although the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) was marginally higher by 2.26 points at 1,737.02 in mid-day trade.
On the broader market, market breadth was negative with decliners outpacing gainers 379 to 229, with 313 counters unchanged, 900 untraded and 32 others suspended, as traders and investors still stayed on the sidelines.
The FBM KLCI fluctuated narrowly between 1,740.99 and 1,732.59 in the morning session, with the marginal gain spurred by light buying in selected blue-chips.
Of the leading movers in the composite index component stocks, Digi.com and MISC added six sen each to RM5.61 and RM8.40, respectively, Sime Darby gained four sen to RM8.59 and Petronas Dagangan advanced 24 sen to RM20.34.
Among active counters, VSolar slipped 1.5 sen to 16 sen, IFCA MSC inched down five to RM1.16 sen, AirAsia X warrants (A) was flat at 5.5 sen, while AirAsia and Frontken added one sen each to RM1.81 and 24.5 sen, respectively.
On the scoreboards, the FBM Emas Index gained 15.35 points to 12,031.09, the FBMT100 Index increased 18.86 points to 11,717.15 while the FBM Emas Shariah Index added 26.80 points to 12,552.52.
The FBM 70 added 35.11 points to 13,218.04, while the FBM Ace slid 68.07 points to 6,291.95.
On a sectoral basis, the Industrial Index added 7.63 points to 3,200.66, the Finance Index gained 21.16 points to 15,550.98, while the Plantation Index trimmed 4.83 points to 7,340.56.
Bursa Malaysia’s overall turnover at lunch break stood at 560.00 million shares worth RM437.23 million. — Bernama
