KUALA LUMPUR, April 3 — Share prices on Bursa Malaysia were lower in early session on profit-taking activities, however, the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) managed to hold above the 1,830 level.
At 9.18am, the benchmark index stood at 1,831.92 points, down 0.05 of-a-point, after opening 0.63 of-a-point easier at 1,831.34 points.
Gainers led losers 113 to 111 while 188 counters were unchanged, 1,377 untraded and 22 others suspended.
Turnover stood at 220.7 million shares worth RM53.85 million.
Maybank Investment Bank Research expects some minor buying at the support levels of between 1,815 points and 1,831 points.
In a note, the research house said today’s list of “buy” stocks included Bonia, Cypark, Hap Seng, Inari and Iris.
Of heavyweights, Maybank and Public Bank were flat at RM9.40 and RM18.92, respectively, while Tenaga added 8.0 sen to RM14.38 and Axiata appreciated 3.0 sen to RM7.09.
Among actives, Ingenuity and Nova MSC gained half-a-sen each to 9.0 sen and 19.5 sen, respectively, and DGB Asia was unchanged at 13 sen.
On the scoreboard, the FBM Emas Index rose 0.32 of-a-point to 12,565.34 points, the FBMT100 added 0.31 points to 12,261.82 points and the FBM Emas Syariah Index rose 4.96 points to 13,118.05 points.
On a sectoral basis, the Finance Index appreciated 3.75 points to 16,277.01 points, the Plantation Index was up 5.26 points at 7,805.76 points but the Industrial Index eased 4.69 points to 3,353.58 points. — Bernama
