FBM KLCI higher mid-morning

KUALA LUMPUR, March 10 — The benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) was slightly higher mid-morning amid lack of market moving news in the local market.

At 11.01am, the FBM KLCI was 0.06 of-a-point higher at 1,791.80 after opening 3.08 points higher at 1,794.82.

On other scoreboards, the FBM Emas Index added 3.47 points to 12,353.88, the FBMT100 Index increased 3.06 points to 12,037.02 and the FBM Emas Syariah Index improved 3.36 points to 12,967.31.

The FBM Ace rose 21.93 points to 6,826.38, the Industrial Index garnered 2.54 points to 3,290.07 and the FBM 70 expanded 13.76 points to 13,389.60.

The Finance Index declined 14.78 points to 15,888.63 and the Plantation Index fell 47.69 points to 7,836.58.

Market breadth was positive as gainers outpaced losers 325 to 273, with 288 counters unchanged, 867 counters untraded and 12 others suspended.

Turnover stood at 906.02 million shares worth RM679.03 million.

Of the heavyweights, TNB gained four sen to RM14.66, Maybank and Public Bank were flat at RM9.20 and RM18.38, respectively and Axiata declined four sen to RM7.12.

Among the actives, Xinghe Holdings, Wintoni Group and The Media Shoppe all edged up half-a-sen each to 13.5 sen, 30 sen and 6.5 sen, respectively but Flonic Hi-Tec, Privasia Technology and ETI Tech were flat at 6.5 sen, 26 sen and 10.5 sen, respectively. — Bernama
