KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 27 — Share prices on Bursa Malaysia remained mixed at mid-morning today on lack of fresh local leads.
At 11.10 am, the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) was 3.11 points easier at 1,817.76, after opening slightly higher at 1,822.27.
On other scoreboards, the FBM Emas Index shed 28.99 points to 12,525.31, the
FBMT100 Index declined 26.88 points to 12,198.84 and the FBM Emas Syariah Index dipped 25.85 points to 13,111.63.
The FBM 70 lost 52.91 points to 13,521.13 and the FBM Ace eased 21.38 points to 6,647.83, while the Industrial Index slipped 9.76 points to 3,331.76, the
Finance Index dipped 14.93 points to 15,896.43, and the Plantation Index trimmed 16.38 points to 8,068.70.
On the broader market, losers outpaced gainers by 405 to 255, with 252 counters unchanged, 855 counters untraded and 33 others suspended.
Turnover stood at 795.13 million shares worth RM499.26 million.
Heavyweights Maybank was flat at RM9.16, Tenaga improved two sen to RM14.52, Public bank eased four sen to RM18.34, while Axiata inched up one sen to RM7.18.
Among actives, Hubline and Diversified Gateway slipped half-a-sen to 2.5 sen and 13.5 sen, respectively, Wintoni added one sen to 20.5 sen, and Eti Tech inched up half-a-sen to 8 sen.
British American Tobacco led the top gainers, adding 58 sen to RM69.58, while the top loser was Lafarge, which fell 30 sen to RM10.10.
On regional markets, Japan's Nikkei 225 hit a new 15-year high as it edged up 0.07 per cent to 18,799.26, Singapore's Straits Times dipped 0.02 per cent to 3,425.54 and Hong Kong's Hang Seng gained 0.50 per cent to 24,902.06. — Bernama
