KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 29 — Share prices on Bursa Malaysia ended the morning session higher today on improved investor sentiment on the back of Wall Street's strong rebound.

At 12.30pm, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) stood at 1,837.62 points, 11.94 points better, after hovering between 1,825.73 points and 1,839.17 points throughout the morning session.

Market breadth was extremely positive with gainers outpacing losers 506 to 187, while 272 counters were unchanged, 671 untraded and 27 others suspended.

“This would be on the back of a bullish performance of US shares, expectations of dovish remarks by the Federal Reserve at its ongoing meeting, lightly improved Eurozone economic data and positive outcome of the European Central Bank’s stress test on banks,” it added. Top gainer during the morning session, while Nestle, the top loser, fell 50 sen to RM68.

Among actives, Efficient E-Solutions and Sumatec Resources gained 2.5 sen and 1.5 sen respectively, to 35.5 sen each.

On the scoreboard, the FBM Emas Index jumped 75.49 points to 12,743.54 points, the FBMT100 Index soared 70.13 points to 12,386 points, and the FBM Emas Shariah Index increased 87.59 points to 13,175.87 points.
