KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 13 — The benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI was lower at mid-afternoon today, dragged down by losses in selected heavyweights.
At 3.01pm, the key index fell 6.46 points to 1,802.42, after opening 0.67 of a point lower at 1,808.21 points.
Petronas Gas and IOI Corp were the two biggest contributors to the fall in the FBM KLCI, accounting for 4.1 points.
Market breadth was negative with decliners outpacing advancers by 714 to 121 while 210 counters were unchanged, 547 counters untraded and 12 suspended.
Turnover stood at 1.01 billion shares worth RM944.65 million.
Among heavyweights, Maybank declined three sen to RM9.67 and TNB slipped six sen to RM12.50.
Public Bank rose 20 sen to RM18.48 and Axiata added two sen to RM7.09.
Of the active stocks, Sumatec Holdings fell one sen to 36.5 sen, XOX eased half a sen to 7.5 sen and PDZ Holdings declined one sen to 27.5 sen.
DGB Asia rose half a sen to 15.5 sen.
On the scoreboard, the Plantation Index decreased 92.3 points to 8,082.95 and the Finance Index added 9.21 points to 16,768.78.
The Industrial Index went down 32.23 points to 3,097.15 and the FBM Emas Syariah Index declined 91.7 points to 12,787.52.
The FBM Ace trimmed 154.53 points to 6,498.72 and the FBM Emas Index depreciated 70.34 points to 12,489.79.
The FBMT100 Index slid 56.77 points to 12,142.41 and the FBM 70 erased 114.17 points to 13,637.58. — Bernama
