KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 9 — Share prices on Bursa Malaysia remained mixed at mid-afternoon today on lack of fresh leads.

At 3pm, the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) was 0.56 of-a-point easier at 1,870.53, after opening 2.25 points lower at 1,868.84.

The key benchmark index traded within a narrow range of between 1872.12 and 1867.98.

Digi.com was the top contributor to the composite index, gaining half a sen to RM5.84, with 2.67 million shares changing hands.

On the broader market, losers outpaced gainers by 411 to 348 with 318 counters unchanged, 530 counters untraded and 19 others suspended.

Turnover stood at 1.54 billion shares worth RM994.45 million.

On the scoreboard, the FBM Emas Index dipped 15.02 points to 13,055.94, the FBMT100 Index shed 14.54 points to 12,633.49 and the FBM Emas Shariah Index trimmed 15.36 points to 13,311.15.

The FBM 70 lost 57.92 points to 14,310.16, the FBM Ace surged 46.74 points to 7,088.97 while the Finance Index dipped 42.29 points to 17,526.21, the Industrial Index decreased 1.41 points to 3,252.78 and the Plantation Index declined down 9.36 points to 8,527.82. 

On active stocks, AT Systematization went up 1.5 sen to 12 sen, Konsortium Transnasional added 8.5 sen to 39 sen, while Globaltec Formation and Asia Bioenergy were both flat at 10 sen and 14.5 sen, respectively. — Bernama
