KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 21 — Pos Malaysia Bhd’s pre-tax profit for the first quarter ended June 30, 2014 slipped to RM38.35 million from RM64.34 million in the same period last year.

Revenue, however, increased to RM368.8 million from RM355.82 million previously, it said in a filing to Bursa Malaysia today.

The national courier said the lower pre-tax profit was due to higher expenses of RM37.2 million primarily due to staff and transportation costs.

“The better revenue was attributed to innovative customer-centric solutions,” it said. — Bernama
