KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 18 — Sale of passenger and commercial vehicles in July fell to 60,267 units from 68,431 units recorded in the same month last year.
The Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA) said out of the 60,267 units sold, 53,578 were passenger vehicles and the remaining 6,689 were commercial vehicles.
In a statement, the MAA said the total industry volume for the January to July period was 11,490 units or three per cent higher at 393,409 units than the corresponding period in 2013, driven by aggressive sales campaign by industry players.
On outlook, it said the sales volume in August 2014 was expected to remain about the same as in July bolstered by the ongoing promotional campaigns by car companies. — Bernama
