KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 13 ― Share prices on Bursa Malaysia remained higher at mid-morning today with the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI)rising 1.2 points to 1,851.59 as at 11.16 am.
Despite the mixed performance of regional bourses, the FBM KLCI remained in positive territory, helped by buying support in small capitalisation stocks and selected blue chips.
On the scoreboard, the Industrial Index gained 8.46 points to 3,201.25, but the Finance Index fell 15 points to 17,155.94, and the Plantation Index eased 10.58 points to 8,904.94.
The FBM Emas Index was 5.62 points higher at 12,974.11, the FBMT100 Index gained 4.69 points to 12,532.25 and the FBM Ace rose 62.78 points to 7,186.04. But the FBM 70 slipped 7.61 points to 14,298.88.
Gainers outnumbered losers by 352 to 274, while 340 counters were unchanged, 656 untraded and 13 others suspended.
Turnover stood at 1.36 billion shares worth RM825.7 million.
Of the heavyweights, TNB perked four sen to RM12.12, while Public Bank was flat at RM19.00.
Maybank slipped one sen to RM9.93, with Axiata and CIMB losing three sen each to RM6.94 and RM6.89 respectively.
Among actives, Sumatec Resources improved one sen to 54 sen, PDZ Holdings gained 1.5 sen to 26 sen and Daya Materials increased two sen to 34 sen. ― Bernama
