KUALA LUMPUR, July 30 — Share prices on Bursa Malaysia opened higher, in early session today, on improved buying sentiment in the local market.
At 9.03am, the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) was 6.51 points firmer at 1,883.85 points, after opening 6.74 points higher at 1,884.08.
On the scoreboard, the Finance Index rose 67.08 points to 17,421.189, the Plantation Index added 32.07 points to 9,123.84 and the Industrial Index increased 26.43 points to 3,281.54.
The FBM Emas Index went up 38.09 points to 13,149, FBMT100 Index appreciated 37.72 points to 12,721.61, FBM Ace firmed 32.01 points to 7,058.31 and the FBM 70 increased 18.85 points to 14,402.94.
Gainers led losers 163 to 70 with 1,405 counters unchanged with turnover amounting to 64.416 million shares worth RM44.01 million.
Among actives, Sumatec and Talam Transform added half-a-sen each to 40.5 sen and 12 sen, respectively while Insas rose two sen to RM1.27. — Bernama
